User-friendliness
The new graphical LCD display gives clear information on the UPS status and measurements (in 7 languages). Advanced configuration functions are available via the navigation keys.
Industry first: the 5PX measures energy consumption down to the outlet group level. These values (kWh) can be managed from the LCD display or from Eaton's Intelligent Power Software suite.
Load segmentation makes it possible, during a prolonged mains outage, to switch off the least essential equipment in order to reserve battery runtime for critical equipment. This function is also used for remote reboot and sequential start-up of servers.
The 5PX has Serial (RS232) and USB communication ports, as well as a free slot for an optional card (SNMP/Web network card or dry contact card). Eaton's Intelligent Power software suite is compatible with all major operating systems, including virtualized environments such as VMware and Hyper-V.
Performance and Efficiency
Up to 99% efficiency: lower heat dissipation and energy consumption.
More real power thanks to its output power factor of 0.9. The 5PX is compatible with all modern IT equipment.
When running on battery, the 5PX delivers a high-quality sinusoidal signal, ideal for powering sensitive equipment, such as servers with active PFC (power factor corrected).
Availability and flexibility
The 5PX is a convertible Rack/Tower system (rack-mounting rails included at no additional cost).
Extending battery life: the battery is managed by Eaton's ABM technology, which only recharges the battery when necessary, thus preventing corrosion and considerably extending its service life.
The batteries are hot-swappable without having to shut down the connected equipment. Thanks to an optional maintenance bypass module, you can even replace the complete UPS.
Up to 4 external, hot-swappable battery cabinets can extend its runtime from a few minutes to several hours. These battery cabinets are automatically detected by the UPS.
